The Faithful...
I will start off with apologising in the delay of this blog post and to let you know we have gone to our 'winter opening hours' and will be closed on Mondays until December, although I will always be happy to come in on a Monday for any appointments so please do not worry if Monday is the only lingerie shopping day for you!
I have been typing this blog up for weeks now, Sophia gave me an idea to do Tallulah's favourite or faithful styles, so here is my interpretation although as you will read I could have only 1 in some of the areas...Hope you enjoy the read and perhaps it will encourage you to do some lingerie shopping this weekend to get your very own faithful pieces.
THE FAITHFUL T-SHIRT BRA
Every woman needs a dependable nude bra, what ever your skin tone is Tallulah will have it covered. I only have the 1 in my lingerie drawer as they really are not my favourite piece of lingerie, but even I know I need it in my collection for that pale pink sheer chiffon dress I wore for my brother-in-laws wedding and my blush silk satin shirt (Stella style in The Fall). They do not have to be ugly, just to disappear. The Simone Perele 'Delice' has a great smooth bra in its collection. From a 30" back and up to a F cup.
But for the E cups and up the Empreinte Cassiopee in Mink is a perfect smooth foundation collection. Invisible and seam free it offers a beautiful shape. This is one of those collections that I wish I had a bigger bust for, it is perfect for a fuller bust and so pretty but perfectly smooth. I had to take the image from the catalogue sorry it also comes in black.
THE FAITHFUL BLACK LACE SET
Sometimes you just want to wear a cliched really sexy black lace lingerie set and Maison Lejaby do this perfectly with the new collection called 'Demoiselle'. It has the lacey sheer cup (for a bit of nipple action), suspender belt and cheeky shortie amongst other shape bottoms and it very kindly goes up to a G cup, here is it below and again anther from the look book.
And below is one for the small cups, well up to an E cup so not too small. Flocked velvet animal print a great spin on the classic black set from Chantal Thomass. In the collection is the padded (pictured below) and the full cup unpadded. Both are a great shape and have proven to be very popular in other colours earlier this year. Love the high waisted knickers for the cold season, but also has a cute bikini brief and string (pictured).
THE FAITHFUL SILK CHEMISE
The perfect silk chemise is needed for a number of reasons; it will sit under dresses creating a smoother line and movement of fabric, it will keep you warmer as a layer in the cooler months and it will be wonderful to sleep in (do you sleep in silk- if you haven't tried it, trust me you need to there will be no going back).
For me the the silk slip here could be either from Vivis or Ginia. I'm sorry, I know in this blog I am giving 1 faithful per size category but honestly I can not choose between these 2. Both are trimmed in beautiful lace at the neck line and bottom, both are in a wonderful heavy weight 100% silk satin (important to hang correct). The Vivis is cupped and costs 155, the Ginia is not and at 119 a great price. So maybe it will come down to the perfect colour choice for you- although lets face it you need more than 1 so perhaps it could be the blush from Ginia as your light and the deep burgundy from Vivis for the darker. But both are available in more than 1 colour.
THE FAITHFUL HOSIERY
Of course it is Wolford here and it is the Velvet de Lux in the tights. Wolford have released a new Shape and Control 66 that I am loving. They do not look like support tights I promise, they just give a super support from the top to the toes. Personally I prefer to wear a stay-up and it has to be the classic Velvet de Lux in black. I love the deep band so it does not dig in too much at the top of the thigh! And then the stocking, in my opinion Wolford do not do stockings very well (controversial i know, but they do not do a seamed stocking or an opaque), so here I had to go to Italian hosiery company Tranperenze and their Sandra 70 denier stockings. Please do not judge these beautifully soft opaque stockings on their packaging is all I'm saying, the are an absolute dream to wear.
THE FAITHFUL NIGHTIE
Of course it is my favourite Christine. If you have never slept in silk then you need to try, I promise you will never sleep in nothing else. Ever. This style is great what ever your size but I have to say it is particularly amazing on the larger bust as in F and G cups as the pleating on the bust area holds the breasts wonderfully. THE FAITHFUL P.J'S
If you are not a nightie 'kinda gal', then theses pjs from Luna Di Seta are perfect for you. The softest modal trimmed in silk. Button through top and elasticated trousers and in 2 colours to choose from including good old black priced at 155 a set. THE FAITHFUL ROBE
To finish off your lounge wear and sleep wear look, whether it is a Ginia or Vivis silk chemise, long Christine gown or Luna Di Seta pjs you need to be wrapped up this utterly divine silk velvet robe.
Can you imagine sitting in front of the fire sipping either red wine or a cup of peppermint tea. Hurry up night time please!
THE FAITHFUL DATE NIGHT
This one is a quick and simple Pearl Thong. If you do not already have one then you need one and not just in black but ivory to. Sexy and simple, imagine you and your lover are out for dinner, you whisper in hushed tones that you have your Pearl Thong on...you will not be hanging around for dessert in the restaurant. Sexy, simple and not in the least bit trashy or tacky. sized Small, Medium and Large and priced at the rather appropriate 69.
